i am changing this blog

and possibly moving it to a different address.

but mainly i want to talk about my lifelong dream of making bras that don't hurt, and how today i looked up patterns for underwear that is homemade and adorable, and adorable because it is homemade, and also this book: http://www.beautifulbras.com.au/book.htm which i really want to own.

i am making lots of homemade xmas presents this year, which i will post after giving them to people and not before.

hey, recently i applied to duke. (!)

also i read 'the good earth' by pearl s buck. depressing and not depressing and i'm glad to have read it, finally:

"Then Wang Lung set himself robustly to the soil and he begrydged even the hours he must spend in the house for food and sleep. He loved rather to take his roll of bread and garlic to the fiekd and stand there eating, planning and thinking. 'Here shall I put the black-eyed peas and here the young rice beds,' And if he grew too weary in the day he laid himself into a furrow and there with the good warmth of his own land against his flesh, he slept."

and this is michel in her native habitat:

after a week of catching up on things i've always wanted to do in wellington but never did because when you live in a place you forget that it can be cool, i have to do lots of thesis work for two days. then alex and i are going to the south island for four days, then back in wellington for a week, then ruthie comes and we start our road trip.
